Bikram Dasgupta expressed his thought on TiEcon Objective in the introduction pitch. Tiecon is a platform to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and to network among the budding entrepreneurs. Tiecon is an assignation for making / development of new industries and trade relationships.
Mr Scott Woods gave us wonderful insight on opportunities of Indian businesses in UK and The beacon was set by Dr.Amit Mitra in terms of “শিল্প কর , বাংলা গড়” (Build Enterprise, Build Bengal). Hot Pitch, B2B Lounge (Mentoring by senior members of TiE Global and Board of Trustees) and TiEGER Awards were three interesting aspects of the event.
Excellent Networking took place during Tea Breaks, Lunch, Drinks and Dinner. It was amazing to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, share ideas with enthusiasm, exchange business cards and promise to stay connected.
There was innovative Green Initiative from Kolkata TiECon where 109 trees were planted on behalf of sponsors, special invitees, supporters, attendees & volunteers.
Overall it was an excellent event where 600+ entrepreneurs gathered under one roof to prove wrong the myth of negativity of entrepreneurship in Bengal.
We should take this forward in order to collaborate with each other and create a great echo system for growth in Bengal along with TiE, Kolkata Chapter (kolkata.tie.org).
The duration of the event was short. These could have spread into two days so that togetherness could have been utilized better to network in a better way.
There could have methodology to connect more entrepreneurs from the audience with the running sessions. Looking forward hearing further initiatives from TiE, Kolkata Chapter.
